Push Notifications with Roost for WordPress
If you are posting new content to your WordPress blog with some regularity and want to ensure that the maximum number of subscribers is viewing it, you might want to consider Roost's new plugin that sends push notifications to subscribers on iOS and Android devices (and as you'll see, Safari too).
The free solution supports unlimited recipients and bloggers can send up to 1 million messages per month. Additional service levels are available that provide users access to APIs and allow for multi-site usage. Roost also provides analytics to help information publishers measure reader engagement and a complete UI kit (roost.js) to help recruit readers to receive push notifications about content updates.
“When we developed Roost, it made sense to provide an easy-to-install push notification solution for independent writers," said Burton Miller, CEO of Notice Software, the company behind Roost. "Mobile web browsing is increasing month over month. We wanted to help blogs better engage their mobile web traffic.”
Roost also recently announced support for Safari Push Notifications (leveraging the Mavericks OS X desktop push solution) this week. The Roost end-user product is presently available in 17 languages with end users in 69 countries.
