With the new Content-Aware Crop feature, Photoshop looks at all the pixels around the edges of an image and automatically fills in the blank space with content when the image is expanded or rotated.

There are numerous applications for the feature, including the ability to move the horizon by adding more sky or ground, change the aspect ratio by adding content around the edges of an image or fill in corners when images are rotated so no pixels are actually list.
