QUICK HIT: Google Shopping Actions in Focus

One small step for Google, one giant step for E-commerce. 

Google recently introduced its new Shopping Actions, a capability that will enable consumers to order products across all of the company's platforms including its voice assistant, and digital properties including YouTube, Google Maps and Gmail.

Google Shopping Actions features a universal shopping cart and instant checkout with saved payment credentials across Google.com and Google Assistant. It enables one-click re-ordering, personalized recommendations and basket-building based on a customer’s purchase history and loyalty.

Google partnered with well-known retailers including Ulta Beauty, Target and Walmart for the initial rollout by allowing them to list their products across Google search through the Google Express shopping service.

In a day and age where consumers are far more demanding from their digital experiences, it was inevitable that a Google solution would emerge that integrates everything from search to payment to provide the omnichannel experience brands and buyers want. 

Shopping Actions uses a pay-per-sale model where retailers only pay for actual transactions. It appears within a sponsored shopping unit on the Google search page and on Google.com/Shopping.
