QUICK HIT: Native Display to Reach $36 Billion by 2021

Native ads could soon completely take over digital advertising altogether.

A new BI (Business Insider) Intelligence estimate, based on data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC), shows a dramatic increase in native's share of display ad revenue and that it can be attributed directly to the dominance of social platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The BI Intelligence report breaks out native ads into three categories: social native, native-style display, and sponsored content (also referred to as premium native), providing forecasts for how revenues from these formats will grow over the next five years and looking at the factors that are driving up spending on each of these ad units.
