Santa's Helper: By-the-Holidays Guarantee
Twas the day before Christmas Eve and all through the house, packages were frantically tracked in hopes the delivery truck would soon turn on an online shopper's cul-de-sac.
A retailer's reputation depends on holiday shipments arriving on time and as expected. One of the ways to manage customer expectations during the holidays is with "delivered by" guarantees. In fact, a recent Shippo survey indicates that 78 percent of consumers are influenced by a "delivered by the holidays guarantee" when it comes to who they shopped with during this busy season. Despite this needle mover, only 36 percent of merchants believed they needed to provide this service to avoid losing business to a competitor.
For those merchants not providing "delivered by" dates (and calling attention to it on product pages), consider this tactic for the next major gift-giving holiday: Valentine's Day.
