QUICK HIT: Tech-Driven Marketing Functions to Drive ROI

Web business owners know that investment in marketing has to drive a return, but what are they doing to ensure that return is positive?

A recent survey from Ascend2 found that "analytics or predictive modeling" solutions are among the best tools for improving ROI, with more than half of respondents indicating the increase is significant with the right technology (and presumably, the right implementation).

The report also noted that marketers consider data management technology to be a key driver of returns; 45 percent, in fact, named it as one of the marketing functions most likely to increase ROI.

Slightly fewer marketers believe that social or relationship management tools are likely to increase returns (35 percent). Content or user experience solutions fared a little better with 37 percent of respondents indicating those solutions were somewhat useful in driving a positive ROI for marketers.
