Quiz Time: Is Your Software IQ Outdated?

Posted on 5.03.2015

Much like everything else in the realm of technology, software has evolved dramatically over the last decade.

Not only has the way software is delivered changed (thanks to the cloud), but also the number of software programs being used by enterprises today has steadily increased. In fact, data from Netskope reveals that businesses used an average of 613 cloud apps in Q4 2014, up from 579 in the previous quarter. While this may seem high, it’s important to note that Facebook, Twitter, Google Drive, Evernote, Salesforce, etc., are counted as cloud apps. Nonetheless, this increase in usage makes it no surprise that software is a booming industry. After all, if you can identify an area of opportunity for your business, there is almost always a software solution available to help you capitalize on it.

Regardless of how many software programs your enterprise may use on a daily basis, there is still a good chance that your own current understanding of the industry is a bit outdated. Fortunately, Web workers can keep up with changes in the software vertical by visiting Website Magazine’s Software Everywhere channel regularly at wsm.co/softwarewm.

In the meantime, find out how much you know about the current state of software by testing your knowledge in this month’s Quiz Time. Spoiler alert: Answers are given at the bottom of this page.
