Ratings & Review Changes for Google Play Developer Console
Reviews provide powerful influence over how consumers perceive the quality and utility of a product - and that holds true in every industry, even in the digital realm of mobile applications.
Google clearly understands the role of reviews, and recently introduced an updated Developers Console that enables software developers to see how ratings have changed over the course of days, weeks or months.
The update should enable developers to understand how the release of new versions affects users. The reviews/ratings can also be broken down into location, language and other variables, to pinpoint where the problem is rooted, and developers can even search review text to see what people are saying about a topic or keyword.
Developers can also access information on device metadata, to see how device data such as RAM, CPU and screen size correlate to certain types of user reviews so that problematic code can be debugged.
