Recruiting that Goes Beyond LinkedIn

More and more professionals are finding jobs via social media - either reaching out to their contacts or being recruited directly by companies or agencies. In fact, Jobvite research indicates that 94 percent of recruiters use, or plan to use social media for recruiting. This number has increased steadily for the last 6 years.

Glassdoor, a career marketplace, is taking this trend and giving businesses the tools to make it work for them - announcing a social recruiting tool, dubbed Company Updates, which allows companies to post real-time messages on their Glassdoor profile page to target potential recruits. Free to any employer with a Glassdoor Free Employer account, Company Updates can even be scheduled through a brand's Hootsuite account to make it easier to manage (since the employee rep is already in the Hootsuite platform).

The advantages of using Company Updates, according to Glassdoor, is that Glassdoor company profiles receive 3-10 times more traffic than company pages on LinkedIn.

More than 36,000 companies have already registered for a Free Employer Account. Registration is available to official company representatives typically in human resources, recruiting, marketing, public relations, and/or executive staff.
