Reddit Adds Interest Targeting
Social media advertising is appealing for many brands. While there are some inherent problems with the opportunity (namely that consumers aren't necessarily in a buying frame of mind), the networks are improving their offerings and it's getting to a point where advertisers need to start paying closer attention.

Reddit recently announced that in addition to subreddit ad targeting, the network is broadening its ad offering to include interest targeting (audiences which are based on predefined interests such as sports, gaming or music). That will create a better experience for users and advertisers and sets the network up to eventually offer up other ad products including retargeting.
The social network, of course, is well known as a host of those that really don't favor digital advertising at all. As a result, Reddit will be allowing users to opt out of this new ad product (the interest targeting).
