Regain Control of Product Data Quality

Information is at the heart of the digital experience.

Presenting the "right" data offers up better opportunities to generate revenue and optimize the buyer journey, while presenting the wrong data can be downright problematic, and in some instances, incredibly damaging to brands. There are some new software solutions emerging however which look to help brands create the ideal shopping experience in this regard.

Marketplace platform provider Mirakl, for example, recently launched a solution that will enable marketplace operators to collaborate with sellers to improve product data quality and consistency, and increase buyer confidence in the process.

The new Mirakl Catalog Manager (MCM) provides marketplace operators with product information management tools to manage the complexities of product data quality and do so at marketplace volume.

MCM was built to handle the unique product data needs of marketplaces that other management systems fail to address such as data ingestion from many different sellers, managing inconsistent product data quality, and creating an easy collaboration space for sellers to enrich product data. In addition to managing the technical complexity, MCM gives merchants the ability to control marketplace assortment by product data quality, ensuring that products with data or regulatory issues are avoided in the online selection.

The solution boasts a range of features including product catalog buffering (identifying and ingesting only incremental differences, rather the complete catalog each time), product deduplication, content consolidation and enrichment, as well as digital asset management, and a validation rules engine that creates automation options to facilitate the operating setting quality standards for product content.
