Remove the Top 1 Million Sites from SERPs
It’s common digital knowledge that most Web users don’t typically go beyond the first page of Google, Yahoo and Bing search result pages.
What would happen though if searchers could remove the top million (or top 100K, 10K, 1K or 100) sites from the results set? Million Short is an experimental Web search engine that allows them to do just that. Million Short makes it easy to discover sites that don’t make it to the top of the search engine result pages (SERPs) for whatever reason.
For users, this could freshen up their results (removing the same popular links) and for businesses, it could even the playing field (if the service became an everyday tool). For fun, we took “bathing suits” as an example. VictoriasSecret.com, Macys.com, Nordstrom.com and others would dominate the organic search results (see first image from SEMRush.com), but on MillionShort.com, users can remove the top 100 sites and get results they likely would have never come across without the discovery engine (see second image).
