Responsive Design a Hot Topic in E-Commere

Posted on 11.20.2013

Responsive design has certainly been one of the top tech trends of 2013 - and platforms such as CoreCommerce have definitely taken notice. The e-commerce shopping cart provider recently released an update that features several responsive themes.

The new design themes, which offer fluid and adjustable-width layouts, will enable merchants to deliver a consistent digital experience for consumers on any type of device - from Web to mobile. Ideally, this will increase a consumers' familiarity with a brand, as well as the confidence required to buy (which with any luck will lead to actual sales). The initial launch will include just two responsive themes, but the company noted that many more will follow in the coming months.

“Our new responsive design themes will bring a consistent web design across all devices, from smartphone to tablet and beyond,” says Matt DeLong, CoreCommerce CEO. “This will improve user experience, positively impacting our CoreCommerce merchants by reaching the maximum number of customers, no matter what device they’re using.”

In addition to responsive design, the new CoreCommerce update includes PayPal’s Bill Me Later feature, which allows merchants to be paid up front for orders while giving customers the option to have more time to pay on a purchase. This feature is also optimized for mobile shoppers and requires no additional cost or integration work. Plus, the new software features an integration with abandoned shopping cart solution AbandonAid. This solution helps merchants recover abandoned shopping carts through real-time and customized cart recovery emails. That said, only the first $500 recovered with AbandonAid is free, but merchants can purchase pay-as-you-go credits after that.

"We're delighted to integrate so closely with CoreCommerce,” says James Oppenheim, AbandonAid CEO. “AbandonAid clients have successfully recovered millions of dollars with our powerful and easy-to-use tools, and we're confident CoreCommerce customers will see a great immediate benefit from them as well."
