Salesforce to Solve Mobile Performance Problems with Twin Prime
Salesforce.com Inc. has purchased app performance management vendor Twin Prime for an undisclosed sum.
This marks the latest of several acquisitions by the Web-based CRM vendor in 2016.
“We built Twin Prime with our outstanding team, bringing together mobile, networking and data science expertise,” Kartik Chandrayana, Twin Prime CEO and co-founder, writes in the short blog post on the Twin Prime website. “The result was a solution that leverages machine learning techniques to analyze real-time network data, identify and prioritize performance gaps in mobile apps, and then optimize mobile performance so companies can deliver content faster to any location, device and network. In collaboration with our customers and partners, we've been able to help solve mobile performance problems across almost every network and geography in the world.” Twin Prime raised $9.5 million in December 2015.
Salesforce purchased e-commerce platform and technology provider Demandware Inc., for $2.8 billion earlier this year. As a result of that relatively major acquisition, Salesforce launched an e-commerce platform offering to go with its customer relationship management software in September 2016. Salesforce also acquired Steelbrick this year, which provides technology that lets businesses quote prices based on custom configurations.
