Subscribe to Scribd's iPaper
Digital content publisher Lulu announced that it is partnering with Scribd, a platform for online document sharing and publishing (see previous coverage of Scribd here) to test iPaper, Scribd's document viewer.
iPaper will enables users to view any type of document directly in their web browser (potentially an alternative to PDF's) without being forced to download software. What's unique about iPaper is that it retains the most essential features of a PDF (such as full text search within documents) but differentiates itself by being crawlable by search engines.
"Lulu has always been on the leading edge of new functionality that provides the best user experience to be able to manage and distribute their content online," said Bryce Boothby, President and COO of Lulu Enterprises. "We think that working with Scribd and looking at ways iPaper can help us to further empower creators, in addition to the tools that Lulu already provides, will be great for Lulu users."
