SEO and The Real Estate Industry

Posted on 10.16.2014

Like many professions, realtors have been pushed into the digital age. Both home buyers and sellers use the Web as a way to research agents, home prices, neighborhoods and more. Like most consumers, they never make it off the first page of Google.

Those realtors embracing this dramatic shift – where consumers have nearly as much information as the professionals themselves – are posed to succeed. This starts with a basic understanding of how consumers find information.

“We already know that search is the number-one traffic driver to real-estate websites – and that search is way more important than social media,” said Peyman Aleagha, WebsiteBox CEO. “So, if 90 percent of prospective home buyers search online, and three-quarters of those buyers never click past the first page of search results, then it’s crucial to make sure your website shows up at the top of those results.”

With that idea in mind, WebsiteBox has created the following infographic to show how much SEO knowledge their peers have and provide some advice to start ranking higher on the search engine result pages.
