SEO: Rank on Bing
So how do you rank on Bing.com? It’s important to note that the new Bing results do not differ that much from the previous Microsoft Live search results. The big difference is the amount of data being displayed for your site is greater on Bing.
Ranking factors on Bing:
This is all subject to change but here are some of the current key ranking factors on Bing.com
1.) Domain Age, Bing seems to favor older domain names.
2.)
3.) Back links or External Incoming links, Back links appear to have a greater weight with Bing then with Google. This is good news for SEO’s who have spend countless hours trying to get quality anchor text rich links pointing to their website. Bing seems to rank sites higher that have more incoming links pointing to their site. Also Bing doesn’t appear to favor a DMOZ directory link as much as Google.
4.) Outgoing links, links pointing to other pages may not be seen as a negative. However you should still be careful of who you link to and remember that Google still does not like that many outgoing links on a page.
5.) More content, Bing tends to rank pages with at least 300 words of text higher on the SERP’s.
