Shopify and Amazon Team Up
Shopify and Amazon are teaming up to help merchants grow their online businesses.
In fact, Shopify has been selected as Amazon’s preferred migration provider for Amazon Webstore merchants. Additionally, Shopify announced that it is providing merchants with tools and services that will help them grow their online businesses and integrate Amazon offerings like Login and Pay with Amazon, Fulfillment by Amazon and Selling on Amazon.
“Both Amazon and Shopify are leaders in ecommerce so it’s a natural fit that we would enable our retailers to seamlessly run their businesses across either platform,” said Harley Finkelstein, Shopify’s chief platform officer. “Many of Shopify’s existing 175,000+ merchants already use Amazon as a sales channel, and this will bridge the gap between our two companies, with just a few simple steps.”
With the announcement, Amazon Webstore sellers can migrate their businesses to a Shopify account and Shopify will provide support to assist in the migrations. What’s more, Shopify merchants can enable Amazon’s payment gateway in the U.S. to give customers the ability to login and pay with their Amazon credentials. This speeds up the checkout on both desktop and mobile devices. Additionally, Shopify merchants can ship products sold on their websites using inventory stores in Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
It is also important to note that Amazon and Shopify are working on integrations to give Shopify merchants the ability to list products simultaneously on Shopify and through Selling on Amazon.
