Shopify Unveils Responsive Checkout for Retailers
As consumers continue to purchase greater amounts of products and services on their mobile devices, it’s vital that retailers who wish to compete on this channel optimize their sites for mobile viewing.
The new checkout process comes just months after Shopify announced that 50.3 percent of their total traffic was coming from mobile devices. Much like responsively designed website, Responsive Checkout automatically optimizes the layout of the checkout process for the size of the screen it is being viewed on. For example, if consumers are completing the checkout process on a mobile device than their order summary will be moved from the right side of the screen to the bottom of the page to create a cleaner and easier to use checkout process.
“When a customer reaches your checkout, the purchase experience should feel seamless and connected to the shopping experience they just had on your store,” states Shopify’s blog. “With the introduction of Responsive Checkout, every Shopify online store now comes with easy design controls that give you powerful options for customizing the look of your checkout page. No design or coding skills required.”
Retailers can customize their Responsive Checkout page with their own custom header image, background color, logo and tagline.
