Simplicity Reigns in LinkedIn's Redesigned Homepage

As social networks expand and enhance their platforms they can become increasingly complicated for their user base to navigate.

To combat this trend, Linkedin has recently announced the rollout of a simplified version of its homepage.

The revisions to the homepage start immediately at the top of the page where users will see a new dashboard that will deliver instant feedback to them on how their profiles are performing. Users will receive information on how many people have viewed their profile as well as how many people have viewed their latest status update. Users will also be able to find deeper insights like how a connection found you, how they rank among their connections as well as within their company.

The social network also introduced a new feature called Keep in touch. The new feature is displayed in a box on the upper right quadrant of the homepage and allows users to quickly comment and like new updates from connections within their network.

“Imagine one place to see how you stand as a professional, build and keep in touch with your network, and get the knowledge you need,” states the official blog post from Elizabeth Burstein, senior product manager at LinkedIn. “LinkedIn has always been that place for its members – and now we’re making it even easier for you to quickly manage and benefit from your experience on LinkedIn with the rollout of our redesigned homepage.”
