Single Sign-On for the Enterprise App

Posted on 10.14.2015

Google's single sign-on service, which is based on the security assertion markup language (SAML) standard, has added SAMPL 2.0 support for 17 additional enterprises SaaS apps including WebEx, Workday, Marketo, NetSuite, Smartsheet, Zendesk, as well as Amazon Web Services.

Google is also now making it easier for administrators to add their own custom SAML app generations. While there are plenty of single sign-on solutions, as business move to the cloud (and perhaps to Google for Work) they will be looking for opportunities to simplify and standardize their security processes.

Google noted that using its identity service for powering the credentials of enterprise apps also gives users the ability to use tools like Google Smart Lock and admins can control password strength, lock screen requirement and app management.
