Slack on the Move [INFOGRAPHIC]

Two-year old Slack has seen impressive growth over the past few months; the team communication app now has 2.3 million daily active users, up from 2 million just two months ago.

Nearly 1/3 of Slack's user base (675,000) is currently classified as "paid," which is up from 570,000 from Dec. 2015. The company revealed in an infographic that it is now generating more than $64 million in annual recurring revenue.

Slack competes with Microsoft's Yammer, VMware's Socialcast, Facebook at Work, Atlassian's HipChat and other commercially available tools. One of the reasons that Slack has managed to become the most popular has likely been due to the success of its app directory. Slack added 130 apps since December (for a total of 280) and they serve numerous needs - from analytics and office management to productivity and security.
