Small-Biz Optimism Falling

Employee confidence might be at record highs, but the positive vibes don't extend to small business owners.

The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) indicated that its small-business optimism index fell 0.3 points to 92.6, with four of the ten components it measures falling (and in some cases quite significantly).

A weak economy was the most frequently cited reason, followed by the political climate, for why a seasonally unadjusted 51 percent of small business owners think that now is a bad time to expand their enterprise.
