Smarter Ads for Catalogers; Rethinking Retargeting

Marketing automation company SocialWire has rebranded to Manifest and announced the availability of a new multi-channel product advertising platform that will enable retailers (including brands such as Neiman Marcus, Gilt and Choxi) to drive incremental revenue by promoting their catalogs on Google and Facebook.

What is unique about Manifest is that instead of promoting products that users have currently expressed interest in, the platform focuses on showcasing new products to consumers. By combining a retailer’s product feed with its proprietary Matching Engine, Manifest identifies products it believes will fare best among specific customer groups by performing thousands of "micro-tests" to verify the viability of each product, and then scaling the best possible ads across channels.

“Unlike retargeting companies, we are helping retailers grow sales by exposing their customers to new products,” said Bob Buch, CEO of Manifest. “Retargeting makes sense when a customer is already on the website, but what retailers really want is growth and incremental sales. They have so much gold hidden in their catalogs – we give them a scalable way to realize the full potential of that asset.”
