Snapchat is expanding its "Our Story" feature to cover more live events.

The ephemeral messaging app initially launched Our Story at Electric Daisy Carnival back in June, and since then, the company has seen Snapchatters contribute more than 350 hours of Snaps to Our Story during live events like Rio, Outside Lands and Lollapalooza. Through the feature, users who turn on their location services and are in attendance at live events are able to contribute snaps to the same story, enabling users who are not at the event to watch these snaps.

Because of Our Story's success, Snapchat is expanding the functionality. According to Snapchat's announcement, users will now see a "Live" section beneath the app's Recent Updates section. The Live section will display Stories contributed by the Snapchat community at a variety of events. Although the company has not yet shed light on how it will determine which live events are featured, this functinoality could open up monetization opportunities for the popular app.
