Many consumers are frustrated with creating new usernames and passwords for just about every website they visit, according to Janrain’s recent Social Identity study. The research reveals that 90 percent of customers will leave a website if they forget their username or password, and that 86 percent are bothered by having to even create new accounts in the first place. The solution could be as simple as social login, because 77 percent of respondents agreed that social login is a good solution that should be universally offered. Social login can also help online businesses by providing valuable word-of-mouth advertising. According to the study, 78 percent of social login fans have posted messages on their social networks about products or services that they liked and thought others should know about.
