Solving the Search Encryption Problem
One of the recent hot-button issues related to SEO has been Google’s adoption of security changes which encrypt keyword-level referral data. It’s a topic Website Magazine will be addressing in our upcoming issue.
The result of the medication is that SEO’s no longer have full access to some important information – but how much is actually missing depends on a wide range of factors. The numbers, for example, vary wildly – between 8 and 20 percent – for different industries.
SEO software vendor gShift Labs is taking a unique approach to solve this search encryption problem brought on by Google. Thanks to a recent update of its software, users are now able to leverage automated filtering tools and page rank reports which, when combined with Google Analytics, can offer insights into keywords that are currently designated as “Not Provided.” The software does this by correlating keyword ranking data and goal conversions. While not a perfect solution, it’s a workaround that will likely be appreciated by users of the SEO software platform.
