Square Cash Service Lets Consumers Send Funds by Email

Posted on 10.16.2013

Square might be one of the most disruptive companies to come around in a long, long time.

The payment solution, which began as a free credit card reader, expanded to offer solutions including Square Register, Square Market, Square Wallet, Square Stand, but its latest and greatest - Square Cash - is probably the biggest game changer of all (at least from a consumer perspective).

Users of the Square Cash service simply send an e-mail to the person they're paying, and after the recipients enters their debit card number, money will be directly transferred to the requseters bank account. Sounds simple enough and it is - just the way consumers like it.

"Square has always believed in creating solutions for individuals and businesses that work with the tools they already have in their pocket," said Square Cash lead Brian Grassadonia. "Square Cash makes it convenient to send money to anyone -- without making them jump through hoops to retrieve it. Now it's easier than ever to split a bill, send a birthday gift, or settle up with a friend, no matter where you are."
