Stay Secure with Dell InTrust

Posted on 1.20.2015

The latest release of Dell’s InTrust software (now Quest InTrust) aims to help organizations search and analyze large amounts of IT data in one place, with real-time insights into user activity across security, compliance and operational teams.

Quest InTrust 11.0 comes with a new IT Search feature, which is an interactive search and store engine that speeds security, compliance and operations visibility for investigations and audits with insights into relationships between data and users. Moreover, through a single Web interface, IT administrators and security teams can find answers to three of the most important compliance and security questions: 1) Who has access to data 2) How was that data obtained and 3) How was it used. This enables IT and security teams to prevent hidden security threats and discover suspicious event trends and anomalies.

It is also important to note that with its new search capabilities, InTrust 11.0 eliminates security silos and enables organizations to investigate the relationships between users and the resources they access. In fact, InTrust provides a connected view of the security events happening in the environment in real time. InTrust also enables administrators to troubleshoot widespread issues in the event of an incident, as well as enables security officers to conduct security investigations regardless of where data resides or how it is formatted and allows compliance officers to produce reports validating compliance across multiple systems.

“While tracking user and administrator activity is central to keeping an organization’s IT data secure, available and compliant, it’s a challenging task that requires combing through huge amounts of disparate data across numerous systems throughout the organization,” said Steve Dickson, vice president and general manager of Dell Software Windows Server Management. “Dell Software answers this challenge by enabling organizations to securely collect, store, search, and analyze IT data from numerous data sources, devices and systems – in one place with real-time insight of user activity. With InTrust 11.0, information security silos are eliminated, and IT has complete operational visibility and deeper insights into users’ complete history and the relationship they have with data. InTrust keeps organizational data available, compliant and secure, improving internal security by detecting suspicious patterns and event trends with real-time alerts.”
