Sticky Navigation for Single-Page Websites
One-page websites have certainly been a popular design trend over the past few years, but despite there being numerous use cases for them and some firm rules and best practices already established for their development, there is still a great deal that can be optimized about them by designers - navigation being a significant element for example.
Fortunately, the Web is flush with interesting and innovative tactics and solutions. Smint, for example, is a simple but elegant jQuery plugin for navigation that is ideal for one-page websites. Smint has a sticky navigation bar (it stays on the top of the page as users scroll down), as well as menu buttons that enable users to scrolls directly to the section they clicked on.
The plugin doesn't feature much in the way of customization, with the exception of how fast the page scrolls. The upside however is that the free download comes with a demo making it easy to set up - particularly if you're looking for a quick and reliable one-page website template.
