StubHub Looks to Personalization and Content Partnerships to Increase Engagement

As brands look to inspire consumer engagement many have started to incorporate personalization tactics in their websites and apps.

StubHub, a popular ticket marketplace, has released an update for its iOS and Android mobile and tablet apps that feature new personalization tools and content partnerships to spur live-event discovery.

Through its latest update, the StubHub mobile app will now recommend customized activities through personalization algorithm, which will base its recommendations on users "favorites," their location as well as their iTunes library (for iOS devices only). Users will receive the new recommendations through push notifications, which iOS users can also push to their Apple Watch. What’s more, StubHub will now be incorporating content from ESPN, including scores, team stats and stories, as well has enable users to see nearby restaurants and their reviews through further integration with Yelp.

“In today’s on-demand environment, consumers don’t want to spend a lot of time researching what they’re going to do this weekend. Instead, they expect to receive timely and personalized information without having to search for it, and the new StubHub mobile experience provides just that,” said Parag Vaish, StubHub’s head of mobile.

“Through our new content partnerships and personalization features, fans will not only be in the know when their favorite teams, bands or shows are in town, they’ll also be able to discover new recommendations based on their preferences.”
