Supermarket Stats Good Retail Benchmark

Grocery shoppers are savvy in store and online, as seen in KSC Kreate's 2013 Grocery Shopping Habits Study, which surveyed more than 570 consumers on grocery shopping behaviors and preferences. The survey uncovered insight into how consumers research, shop and make purchasing decisions before and during their grocery trips. Interestingly, before going to the store, 36 percent of consumers research grocery purchases online, most often to search for coupons, competitor pricing and recipe ideas.

The highlights of its findings can be found in the infographic below and also used as a reference point for many retailers outside of the grocery business, as the results strongly indicate that brands must provide compelling content across channels (e.g. recipes as indicated below).
