Support For Dimension Weight Shipping Now in Google Merchant Center

Posted on 2.03.2015

Google is introducing support for dimensional weight shipping rates in its Merchant Center, which will make it possible for sellers to show the right shipping cost to online shoppers.

The update will enable e-commerce advertisers and marketers to define dimensions of packages used in their shipping in relation to the length, width and height of a package (in addition to the weight that is already supported).

Google has also developed several new attributes that can be added to product data in order to provide the dimensions of packages that get shipped. When sellers include the 'shipping length,' 'shipping width,' and 'shipping height,' Google will automatically calculate the carrier-determined shopping rates, ensuring users receive the most accurate costs for delivery.
