Tableau Software Offers Author Profiles
Following it's near epic one billion dollar IPO earlier this year, data visualization platform Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA) announced that it has begun providing every one of its public users with an online profile page to showcase the visualizations they create by publishing them to the Web.
Tableau has provided its free product since February 2010 but by making author profiles public, it's poised to grow its current 40,000 member user base exponentially. Consider it the big data equivalent to presentation sharing solutions like SlideShare.
Tableau authors have the ability to customize their pages, including the ability to hide/show each workbook and bylines, provide links to websites and other social media pages, and even feature a workbook at the top of their profile page.
"At Tableau we’re excited about the creative work that Tableau Public authors publish every single day.” said Ben Jones, Product Marketing Manager at Tableau Software. "Our goal with the launch of author profiles is to give authors a way to shine a spotlight on their best work, while allowing them to have full control over what gets shown."
Authors interested in accessing their profile can log in to their account at tableaupublic.com and click “My Profile” on the left side of the page.
