Take the TopCoder AppStream Challenge

Design and development community TopCoder, a division of Appirio, has (in partnership with Amazon) launched a series of innovation challenges for the new AWS service AppStream.

Amazon's AppStream provides a way for developers to stream entire applications, or their components, to a specific device. The streaming capabilities essentially allow low-performing devices to run graphically and resource-intensive apps because it's processing in the cloud, as opposed to on the device itself. That's going to be appealing for developers because they won't have to constrain the design of their application.

"AppStream is a new way to think about how applications are built and delivered," said Mike Frazzini, General Manager, Amazon Games. "Working with TopCoder, we're excited to learn about the wide range of real-world uses developers are able to dream up for AppStream."
