Targeting Ads Via Device Type

Between smart TV’s, countless different mobile devices and game consoles, there are numerous ways in which marketers can serve their content.

However, the best marketers understand the advantage of creating and serving device specific ads.

Afilias, owner of DeviceAtlas, a device intelligence provider, has announced that SpotXchange, a video ad platform, has selected Device Atlas to provide it with information on which device a user is leveraging.

In order to detect and deliver ads to the correct platform, SpotXchange ad server requests trigger a DeviceAtlas API call that then analyzes the requesting browser’s HTTP headers and returns device type. Moreover, not only can DeviceAtlas ensure that the correct ads are going to each device type, but it also delivers campaign statistics to users at a device level, helping marketers to get their clearest view of their campaign performance.
