The Future of Job Search Has Arrived
Google has made it official - the search engine is now making it possible for users to search for jobs and receive email alerts as new employment opportunities arise.
Announced at its annual I/O developer conference last month, Google has begun returning job listings (on desktop and mobile) that are posted across the Web (from career sites and professional networks including Monster, LinkedIn, Facebook and WayUp among others). Google is also making available a job alerts tool, which will let users receive email notifications when new jobs are posted for a specific query.
It’s worth noting here that employers who do not use third-party websites to list their openings can also have their open positions included in Google Search by simply marking up their job listings with Job Posting structured data and submitting a sitemap with a <lastmod> date for each listing.
