Exhausted from endless meetings, constant messaging alerts, and vast amount of data? You're not alone and it could be negatively impacting the success of your company.

Collaborative work management solution Clarizen recently released a report that found companies' efforts to improve collaboration among employees by opening new lines of communication can actually have the opposite effect.

81 percent of respondents, in fact, say that despite taking steps to improve communication among their employees, they still lack a way to keep projects on track and provide management oversight. This, in addition to other aspects of running digital initiatives (from implementing new communication technologies, modifying infrastructure or switching legacy platforms) can have chilling effects.

The likely result of all this overload? 73 percent of those surveyed by Clarizen say they need collaborative software that increases productivity by tying communication to specific business tasks — helping teams align goals, coordinate workflow, track progress, allocate budget and meet deadlines. Yet, only just over half (53 percent) have done so. Obviously some room to grow for the industry as a whole.
