The Omnichannel Vision; Nexternal Acquired by HighJump

Posted on 5.31.2015

Supply chain management software solution HighJump has acquired cloud-based ecommerce platform provider Nexternal, making for what is arguably the first combined e-commerce platform and warehouse management systems.

Nexternal’s platform provides an order management system that handles both B2B and B2C orders, so coupling it with HighJump's supply chain solution makes a great deal of sense - particuarly with the trend toward omnichannel commerce. The Nexternal system is used to run call centers, generate and manage subscription orders, retrieve Amazon marketplace orders, create club orders and receive orders from other systems via its API. The system essentially serves as a single hub for pricing, promotions, status and customer care related to the order management lifecycle.

“HighJump continues to build on our strategy of providing end-to-end supply chain solutions built upon a common, adaptable technology platform,” said Michael Cornell, CEO of HighJump.

“The acquisition of Nexternal adds important commerce capabilities to further deliver upon HighJump’s omnichannel vision and provides new options for HighJump’s 14,000 global customers.”

HighJump merged with WMS and supply chain software rival Accellos in July 2014.
