The Only Tablet: iPad Usage Share Surpasses 84 Percent
Chitika has just released data revealing that Apple iPad users’ share of U.S. and Canadian tablet Web traffic has increased to 84.3 percent in June 2013, marketing the second consecutive month of iPad usage share gains.
According to Chitika, who sampled millions of ad impressions run through its ad network during the month, Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Samsung’s Galaxy tablet families remain in second and third place respectively.
Chitika noted that while the iPad dwarfs its closest competitors, who suffered month over month declines consequently. There was one bright spot in Barnes & Noble’s Nook, which grew its user share by 37 percent over what was seen in May – although that was likely a result of a dramatic price drop in mid-June.
