The Shipping Formula for E-commerce Success

Shipping is an important element in the formula for e-commerce success, influencing an enterprise's bottom line as well as the customer experience in general.

eBay is releasing a new offering for clients of its Ship-from-Store solution that will hopefully raise the bar in customer experience and ease some of the seemingly omnipresent shipping issues affecting retailers today.

eBay's solution is now working directly with freight companies to provide Ship-From-Store clients with discounted shipping rates, free/discounted branded packing supplies and rebates for high volume orders. The freight solution from eBay Enterprise carries the promise of reducing shipping-related costs and potentially transfer the savings to consumers in the form of discounted or free shipping promotions. Will it work?

Decreasing shipping and freight costs is top of mind for them,” said Tobias Hartmann, interim president of eBay Enterprise. “We’ve worked with our freight partners to provide savings not only in warehouse fulfillment, but also for our clients who ship orders from their store network. It’s a win for our clients and the consumer.”
