Tighter Security for Cloud Hosting
While security and loss of physical control over data are leading concerns associated with cloud technology by 65 percent and 40 percent of companies, respectively, a report from Netwrix indicates that the majority of companies are ready to allocate budget for additional security guarantees.
Some Web hosting providers, however are taking on those extra security measures themselves. 1&1 recently announced a collaboration with Intel to develop and deliver optimized platforms for cloud and datacenter applications with a key focus on performance and security solutions. This new technology will allow 1&1’s customers better control and visibility over their data hosted in 1&1’s cloud infrastructure.
“We are glad to cooperate with such a reputable company like Intel in order to further improve our innovative data center technology,” said 1&1 Internet CEO Robert Hoffmann. “The collaboration underlines our steady effort to provide the latest and cutting-edge technologies to our customers and elucidates the importance of our cloud strategy as a key factor for 1&1’s business success.”
According to 1&1, the collaboration will also allow 1&1’s flagship product, the 1&1 Cloud Server, to be continuously improved in order to provide customers with the best possible performance. Additionally customers will benefit from innovative security solutions designed to provide the highest possible level of privacy and security in the cloud.
1&1 expects first products deployed based on the joint collaboration throughout 2016.
