Top 5 Most Clickable Valentine’s Day Native Ads
By Maria Shinkevich, MGID
Advertisers all know it is important to take advantage of the seasonal calendar and Valentine’s Day is no exception. But as we march forward toward the big date, it may be worthwhile to look closer at the type of Valentine’s Day content that users engage around the most. We know by now that native advertising is a great way to bring content to users and generate traffic from that content, however we may not know what type of content is most clickable.
We’ve reached under the hood of more than 3,000 entertainment and lifestyle websites, sifted through millions of unique website visitors so that we can help give you the edge on choosing what Valentine’s Day content to publish. We put the top Valentine’s Day topics on a scale of 1 to 10 (ClickFactor scale) to measure how clickable a piece of content is based on visitor engagement, click-through rates and other data. Take a look—does your content measure up?
#1: Valentine’s Day Treats/Food, Click Factor 10
Recipes, scrumptious photographs, unique ideas on sparking that whimsical romance your loved one deserves. The Treats/Food category was, by far, the most clickable piece of content on our entire platform stepping far and above all other types of content by more than 5 points on the scale.
#2: Valentine’s Day Decoration Ideas/Gifts, Click Factor 4.7
Visitors are looking for content that helps make Valentine’s Day more special. How else than to create something beautiful from scratch, or by finding the right special gift for your special someone? While not at the same level as Treats/Food, the Ideas/Gifts category is a strong contender on the scale.
#3 Valentine’s Day Make-up/Clothes/Hair, Click Factor 2.4
Lower on the Click Factor scale, but still significant for the different types of Valentine’s Day content, Make-up/Clothes/Hair is a good category for connecting visitors with unique ideas to put some surprise and creativity into the special day.
#4 Valentine’s Day S** Tips, Click Factor 2.3
Ranked just behind Make-up/Clothes/Hair, website visitors are looking for some … ahem, advice on spicing up Valentine’s night. It should be no surprise that the art of love ended up on the Click Factor top five list but is it surprising it was trumped by food?
#5 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas, Click Factor 1.1
At the bottom of our list, with the lowest Click Factor, date ideas come just after Valentine’s Day *ahem tips. Visitors may already have their idea of a perfect dream date, but for those millions that are looking, fresh and interesting ideas can come forward.
There are some interesting things to note on this list, but as with all things in love, it’s not only the way content looks, but the quality of content that wins over hearts.
