A new report from Custora reveals that email is second only to organic search for online customer acquisition and the savviest digital enterprises know it, using email in ways that were once only a far flung virtual dream. Today’s Internet professionals aren’t just batching and blasting, they’re finding ways to link behavioral, demographic and personal information into recipient profiles and sending emails when it matters most, and to whom it will generate the best response from. But, they’re not doing it alone.
The email solution providers of the past have evolved, moving from simply providing the technical functionality and resources required to send those allimportant emails to existing recipients and prospective customers, to, in some cases, being full-on (often automated) digital marketing systems. Many of these providers have the capabilities to serve as customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, offer inbound marketing and lead management/scoring platforms, and even provide social media, landing page and event management tools. The result, when used well, is more revenue for the enterprises that decide to make these more robust systems part of their digital marketing mix.
