Track What New gTLD Were Registered at Domain Punch
An incredible amount of attention is being paid to launch of the new top-level domains but what's being registered?
We know from websites like ntldstats which extensions are seeing the most registrations in general (and which registrars are driving those new domain sales) but it is interesting every once in a while to see which new domains exactly have entered the namespace as it reveals the quality of these extensions in general and how well they may fare in the years to come.
Domain Punch released a new tool recently which finds the new gTLD domains that were registered on the previous day. For example, yesterday (November 5, 2014) more than 1,400 .XYZ domains were registered. The .XYZ is one of the fastest growing of the new top level domains, but a closer look through the Domain Punch tool reveals that a vast majority are of a relatively low quality. To many, the types of domains being registered says a lot about the future success of the extension. See a random sampling of .XYZ compared to extensions like .NYC or .GURU and you'll see what we mean.
