Tracking App Store Analytics

App store analytics platform Distimo announced that it is opening access to its API to provide users with the ability to incorporate data into their own tools and applications.

The Distimo API provides access to information including downloads, one-off and in-app revenue, as well as rankings and reviews for the major app stores. Developers can see their performance by day, week month or quarter on the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Samsung Apps, Apple Mac Store, Windows Phone Marketplace, Windows Store, BlackBerry World, and Nokia Ovi Store. The API can be accessed through any programming language and data can be exported in CSV and JSON.

The public release of the Distimo API will provide actionable market data and enable organizations to make better informed business decisions about their apps – from analytics and market trends to lead generation. Distimo indicated that many of the companies who have had early access to the API – including game developer Backflip Studios, publishing house Gannett, fitness app Runtastic, and ZeptoLab, makes of the popular Cut the Rope game – have already seen the benefits first hand.

“The open availability of the Distimo API makes it easy for us to have effortless access to app store market data, which is otherwise not easily discoverable,” stated Joe Lazarus, Chief Marketing Officer at Backflip Studios, the game developer behind DragonVale, Paper Toss, Ninjump, and others. “Our decision to integrate Distimo’s app store data helps us make data-driven decisions for all of the apps in our portfolio.”
