Turkey Blocks, Then Unblocks, Reddit

Posted on 11.15.2015

Turkey banned Reddit on November 13, 2015 under the Internet censorship law of the country, but subsequently overturned that ruling after just one day.

Law 5651 allows Turkey to block websites for different reasons (including terrorism threats, piracy and pornography). Enacted back in 2007, the law gave the Telecom Authority of Turkey (TIB) the power to block websites and content without the need to receive any authorization from other offices in the government or from its courts.

There are, of course, a vareity fo ways to circumvent blocks of this nature including using VPN's (virtual private networks) and Tor.
