Twitter Ads Available in 12 New Markets
Ads are a major source of revenue for Twitter, so it is no surprise that the social network is expanding its ad platform to 12 new markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and in Portugal.
According to the social network’s announcement, the new markets include Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine and Portugal. The expansion is a result of “tremendous growth” in these regions, and will make Twitter Ads available to 35 EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) markets through direct sales support teams and reseller partnerships.
This expansion should help boost Twitter’s ad revenue in the future, which as of Q2 2014, was up 129 percent year-over-year. Moreover, Twitter notes that recent product developments to its Ads platform has helped brands accomplish goals like driving engagement or direct-response actions like website traffic, video views, leads and sales. Now, advertisers in these new markets will also be able to leverage Twitter Ads to accomplish their goals.
