Posted on 4.16.2014

Fifty-six percent of software developers expect to become millionaires in their lifetime according to a new survey from IT automation platform GetChef. What's more, 66 percent also said they expect to get raises in the next year.

Overall, the findings reveal what many of us already know - technology and development are where the big bucks will be in the future - in addition to right now. Eighty-four percent of survey respondents, in fact, said they believe they are paid what they're worth, and 95 percent report they feel they are one of the most valued employees at their organization.

Some other highlights from the survey include:
- The average software developer plans to stay at their company for nine years.
- 69 percent of developers describe their profession as recession proof.
- 82 percent of software developers are more satisfied with their jobs than non-developer peers.
