Video-Based Shopping Comes to AdWords
Google introduced two new video formats in AdWords - TrueView for Shopping and Shopping ads on YouTube.
The new TrueView for Shopping product enables marketers to display interactive video ads that contain actionable shopping "cards," which should help turn viewers into shoppers. The cards display along the right margin of the video and contain specific product and pricing details. Marketers can target the video ads at those who have visited their site (retargeting) or watched their other videos.
The other new video format, Shopping Ads on YouTube, allows marketers to overlay shopping cards on top of product videos on YouTube. Viewers who are researching products on YouTube can simply click a small button at the top of the view window to see the shopping cards containing product and pricing details, and easily click through to a purchase page.
